Our Association is an organizational member of the Florida Keys Citizens Coalition.  Its membership includes a number of other political and environmental activist groups throughout the Keys.  It was established in 1973 with the purpose of coordinating the work of its members in their efforts to promote, preserve, and enhance the quality of life for residents of the Florida Keys.  The organization operates on the principle that our quality of life is directly linked to our environment.  Biodiversity and sustainability of our natural environment are key elements within the Coalition’s purpose.  It regularly speaks out against the exploitation and over-development of the Keys and has brought to the public’s attention the threat of overdevelopment on our environment and the infrastructure.  It regularly stresses the value of preserving natural habitat areas.

Cooperation with the FKCC provides strong support for many of our issues.
